​Join the fight against harmful lawsuit abuse in Missouri!

Missouri is a wonderful state with great potential for businesses to thrive. For too long, plaintiffs' lawyers have held Missouri businesses hostage and stifled economic growth in the state.
 
The Missouri Civil Justice Reform Coalition (MCJRC) has worked tirelessly to eliminate predatory lawsuit lending in Missouri. The lack of regulation in this highly predatory industry means that lenders—often hedge funds with deep pockets—can charge interest rates as high as 100% or more. In some states, these investments, or loan transactions, are regulated—but NOT in Missouri.
 
MCJRC is now partnering with the grassroots organization, Missourians for Fair Legal Funding, in the fight against third-party lawsuit lending in Missouri. Proposed legislation, HB 628/SB 342, would implement regulations preventing lawsuit lenders from abusing the system. Common-sense oversight and transparency of lawsuit lending are needed to ensure protections for consumers, keep the litigation process integrity intact, and bring balance to the civil justice system. Now is the time for Missouri to enact reforms to protect our consumers and businesses.
